GLASS MINES DEFY DETECTORS
NEW YORK, Sept. 7.
Glass land mines that cannot be located by magnetic finders or set off by electronic detonators are now being used by the Allied forces in Europe and the Pacific, according to the colonel in charge of the Cincinnati Ordnance Depot. The glass mines were a closelyguarded secret for many months. These non-metallic mines are known at M 5, and are effective against tanks, trucks, and other vehicles.
