Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Situation: a series of depressions is moving south-eastward north of the North Island. An autl-cyclone extends over the south Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m.: fresh to strong south-westerly to southerly winds. Weather cloudy, with scattered showers, chiefly north of Banks Peninsula. Temperatures cold. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Couth Island is:— Forecast to 5 p.m.: south-easterly to easterly winds, fresh at times. Weather fair to line, although cold. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was overcast and showery yesterday, with a moderate south-west wind. The maximum temperature was' 47.5 degrees.
