OXFORD COUNTY COUNCIL
* The chairman (Mr F. J. Gorton) and Crs H. Feary and W. M, Gorton were appointed a finance committee at the monthly meeting of the Oxford County Council. A letter was received from Messrs Weston, Ward, and Lascelles requesting the council to clean out O’Halloran drain, Ellis Flat. The clerk was instructed to reply that the drain was reasonably clean; also that the council was calling a public meeting with a view to forming a drainage area in that locality, so that all drains can be maintained in proper order. The works committee will define the area. It was decided to shingle one mile of South Eyre road each year until the road is completely shingled; to raise the flume in the main Eyre water race at Dixon’s, at the sides, by six inches, and to grade the Woodstock road at Pilbrow. ’ ,
