NEW PRICE ORDERS
♦- — CONDENSED MILK AND DRIED FRUITS Price orders fixing maximum wholesale and retail prices for sultanas, currants; and raisins, and two brands of condensed milk, have been issued by the Price Tribunal. The maximum retail prices for raisins sold in any area within which wholesalers carrying on business in the four mam centres deliver goods free to retailers are; unseeded, 9id a pound; seeded, 16oz cartons, Is each; 12oz cartons, lOd; bulk: or large containers, 10Jd a pound. Elsewhere the prices are increased by id in each case. Tim prices for currants in the mam centres are: one crown, 9d a pound; two crown, 9id; three crown, lOd; others, BJd. Elsewhere there is an increase of id in each case. For sultanas the prices in the main centres are: three crown, lOd a pound; four crown, lOJd; others, 9Jd. Prices elsewhere are id higher. Retailers who sell dried fruits are required by the price order to display in their shops placards giving the retail price by the pound in the case of bulk fruit, and the retail price and net weight in the case of fruit packed _in cartons or other containers. Australian currants and sultanas must be given their various grades. The maximum retail price for two brands of sweetened condensed milk sold in the main centres and 15 other cities or boroughs where the manufacturer or wholesalers deliver goods to retailers free is lOd for a 14oz tin For an lloz tin of unsweetened condensed milk the price, for one brand is 7d and for the other 7 id. Elsewhere the prices are increased by a id for both brands of sweetened and unsweetened condensed milk.
