DOES IT MATTER WHAT WE BELIEVE? Yes, it matters much what we believe. Because: 1. It pleased God to make salvation conditional on believing certain things. (Proof)—lst Corinthians, 1: 21; Romans, 1: 16; Galatians, 3: 22; Act. 13: 39. 2. It is required of us that the certain things be none’ other than those preached bv Jesus and the Apostles. (Proof)—Galatians, 1: 6; 2nd John, 10. 3 The Apostles preached definite things styled gospel, or gladsome tidings, and therefore THE GOSPEL is the means to be employed im our salvation. (Proof)— Ist Corinthians-, 15; 1; Romans, 1: 16. 4. The things so preached were the things concerning the Kingdom of God and those things that concern the Lord Jesus Christ. (Proof)— Acts, 8; 12; 19: 8; 28: 31, , 5. Unbelief of the Gospel makes condemnation certain. (Proof) —Mark, 16;, 16; John, 12: 48. 6 Ignorance of the Gospel leaves men in a state of darkness in which salvation is impossible. (Proof) —Ephesians, 4: 18; 2; 12. 7. Belief is faith, without which it is Impossible to please God. (Proof) Hebrews ll: 1; Romans. 4: 20; Hebrews, Biit something more than just a belief in the Gospel is necessary for salvation. The Gospel believed and obeyed in baptism, introduces a man to a position in which he can do what before was impossible—WOßK OUT HIS SALVATION.
