The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Moderate south-westerly winds, still strong at firrt in exposed positions. A few isolated showers about Banks - '•Penlpruia. Weather elsewhere fair to cloudy. Temperatures eold. WEPT COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate and variable winds. Weather fair to cloudy and cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER After a frost cf 10.3 degrees the weather yesterday was fine, but cold. The maximum temperature was 45.0 degrees. Heavy rain set in from the south-west early last evening. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and a light south-west wind was blowing. The barometer, rising, registered 30.06 in (1018.0 milli- • bars).
