—« — CANTERBURY CLUB REORGANISED
A decision to revive the activities ot the Canterbury Rowing Club was maa* recently when members of the club met for the first time for nearly three years. The reason for the reorganisation., of tire club, said the president (Mr F. I. Cowlishaw), was the desire of 12 young men, most of whom were students of Canterbury University College, to become active members during the coming season. Altogether 15 new members were elected at the meeting and it was expected that there would be more men from the University seeking membership later. Mr C. H. Clemens, whose services to the club were praised by Mr Cowlishaw, was elected a vice-president. Donations amounting to £GO were made at the meeting by the following members; Messrs C. H. Clemens, S. Buchanan, R. S. Ayers, F. Dunnage, F. N. Brown,V. D. Hewer. T. F. Gibscn. J. G. Collins, F. I Cowlishaw, A. C. Allen. E. F. Nicoll. H. S Read. J. B. Taylor, E. F. Hill, and J. O. McGiffen. Officers who will act until the annual meeting of the club in September were elected as follows; Club captain. Mr M. T. Hunter; deputy-captain. Mr \V. Vf.. Young; secretary. Mr D. T. Bullick; treasurer, Mr J. B. Taylor; committee. Messrs G. A. Drummn"d, K. G. Knight. R. F. Hough. E. A. Millett, R. R. Spooner, and R. J. Hampton.
