Yearling Ayrshire Bulls. NOTE: The dispersal of the “Ivanhoe’ Ayrshires spells “finis” to the existence of the famous Stud which Mr Weir so successflully followed on the "Glenweir Ayrshires, founded by his father, the late Cochrane Weir, on the Otago Peninsula over 60 years ago. Production records, setting new standards for the breed, have been created by members of the ‘lvanhoe” Stud, and expense has been a secondary consideration when it came to the question of introducing new blood Into the herd, nor was sentiment allowed to interfere with the rigorous culling which had to take place. It is unique amongst breeders of Dairy Cattle to have as many as THREE CLASS LEADERS and MINION CHAMPIONSHIPS in one herd, vet that is the proud record attaching to the “Ivanhoe” Herd. To merely own such a trio would be a great honour, but to have bred them and brought them out adds merit to an already meritorious performance. Descendants from these champion females, sired by picked bulls Imported from Scotland and Canada as well as the Dominion’s best, will be offered at the sale. Breeders and dairymen alike are recommended to attend this dlspersale of High-class Ayrshire Cattle. Catalogues obtainable from Auctioneers Order of Sale: Sundries. Implements, Sheep, Cattle, Horses.
