TRAMWAY REVENUE
DECREASE SHOWN ON JANUARY FIGURES
The revenue account of the Christchurch Tramways Board for the four weeks ended January 23, 1£44, received at (he meeting of the board yesterday, showed a surplus of £4319. Th’is represented a decrease,of £BS over the same period in the previous finincial year.
The report to the board pointed out that during December, 1943, and January. 1944, petrol coupons had full value, while in the previous year coupons were of half value only. The detailed figures in the revenue account are given as follows with an indication as to whether the figures represent an increase or decrease on the period for the previous year:— Earnings from operations—£2B,3s2 (decrease of £679).
Operating expenses—£l7,l7s (decrease of £183).
Standing charges—£6Bsß (decrease of £411).
Surplus £43lf) (decrease of £BS)
Mileage—294,s9s miles (increase, 6310 miles).
