Southbridge.—Sympathy with Sister J. Gibb in the death of her husband while serving overseas, and with Mesdames C. Thomas, C. Tod, and J. Thompson, who have had relatives wpunded' In recent fighting, was expressed at the monthly meeting of the institute. Many letters were received from servicemen and a nursing sister, acknowledging parcels sent to them. Social competitions were won by Mesdames A. O. Love and W. C. Hickman, and the monthly competitions were for a small bloom, a cluster or 'spike, a shrubr-a bowl xst TbseSr a~P}ece of Christmas cake, and a traycloth worked in colours.
