STOCK SALES DUVAUCHELLE The yarding at the monthly cattle sale on Friday was the smallest for many months and only about 150 head were offered. The yarding consisted mainly of fat cattle, the quality of which ranged from poorly-conditioned cows to some lines of well finished steers, heifers, and cows. The market showed a considerable decline on last month's prices, steers being about £3 a head cheaper, while all fat stock were disposed of at lower prices, following the trend of Addington market values. The usual big draft of 200 to 300 of store cattle was absent from the sale because of the dry weather and the poor demand at present for store cattle. The few store cows offered sold reasonably well considering the quality and present dry weather. The range of values was as follows: Fat steers, £ls 10s to £lB 10s; lighter sorts, £lO 5s to £l4 15s. Fat heifers, £lO 15s to £l3. Fat cows, £lO 5s to £l4 ss; lighter sorts, £6 to £lO. Store cows, £1 Is to £B. Bulls, £2 17s 6d to £5 2s 6d.
