RATIONING WOULD BE WELCOMED
. These days necessarily we are allowed so much of this ana that. It is a pity that things like colds and other inconveniences cannot be rationed Many families certainly get more than a fair share. It 's fortunate however that Baxters Lung Preserver is still freely available to assist in overcoming colds. Children especially should be watched at this time of the year when they are keen to go barefooted and to shed their clothes in welcome of the warm weather. At the first sign of trouble, sometimes a sore throat, frequent sips of “ Baxters ” will prove beneficial.
A curfew for all girls and boys under 16 has been suggested as one method of combating juvenile vice in Brisbane, which is causing concern to the police, welfare workers, and medical men. Medical men are seriously perturbed. Maternity homes, they said, were overworked endeavouring to cope with girls and women who each week are seeking admittance to give birth to illegitimate children. Welfare workers stated that a tour of the city parks and streets, dance halls, and hotels disclosed an amazing growth of juvenile vice.
