MARTYN—Reported missing ’on air operations on March 30, 1943, now presumed dead, 415001 Sergeant Pilot John B. (Jack) Martyn, dearly loved eldest son of Mr and Mrs L. H. Martyn, 39 King street, Rangiora, loved brother of Allan, and also dearly loved fiance of Miss Edith Broadley. Kaiapoi; aged 24 years. His duty nobly done.
TOOMBS—In Scotland, Acting Flight Lieutenant William Henry Clemens (Jim), dearly loved son of P. R. and E. M Toombs, 53 Rayburn avenue, Papanui, and beloved husband of Heather Toombs, Scotland; loved brother of Cliff, Dorothy, and Pat; aged 25 years.
