ENEMY SHIPPING ATTACKED
RAID ON MOLUCCA ISLANDS (Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Nov. .26. A concentration of 13 Japanese ships at Halmahera in the Molucca Islands has been attacked by Mitchell medium bombers. An 8500-ton freighter transport was left stationary and listing after a direct hit and two near misses. General MacArthur’s communique yesterday reported the sinking of an 8000-ton ship in this area. Nearly 400 tons of high explosives have blasted the Japanese installations at Gasmata in New Britain during the last week. In the latest attack Liberators dropped £3 tons of bombs on supply dumps near the mouth of the Bairoke river.
