AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL
REPORT TO BE MADE ON RIVER FLOODING
Letters from thb Minister of Railways, the Lands and Survey Department, and the Public Works Department about the calling of a conference to discuss the flooding of the Waiau river at Rotherham were received at the monthly meeting of the Amuri County Council, held v at Culverden. The chairman reported that the engineer of the Public Works Department had arranged for a full report to be made on the flooding before a conference was' called.
It was reported that the Main Highways Board was going* to call tenders and make all necessary arrangements for the second-coat sealing work to be undertaken in the county.
A report received‘from the Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Council showed that up to September 30, the Amuri zone had collected 91.9 per cent, of its quota for the present appeal.
