UMPIRES’ ASSOCIATION < The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Umpires' Association:—patron, r Mr W. B, Fuller (president of the Christ- ‘ church Bowling Centre): president, Mr V. j J, Rhodes; vice-presidents, Messrs J. J. J Hurley and A. C. Truman; secretary and J treasurer, Mr D. Dickson: committee, ' Messrs W. Brown, B. Penlington, E. H. ' Travis, W. A. Gandell, J. Dabourn, T. D. Lennie; auditor, Mr J. A. Robb. Twenty clubs are now represented on the association. Because of reduced numbers among i the younger members, the registrar of r the Women’s Voluntary Land Army, f Miss U. Caison, is organising a cam- f paign to recruit more members to I work on all the Land Army’s garden plots. The campaign will be opened I on November 20.
