DECISIONS OF NO. 10A BOARD

Decisions in cases heard by the No. 10A Armed Forces Appeal Board yesterday were given as follows: Appeals for release from the services were decided as follows:—F. Brian, shearer (F. M. G. Trowbridge, butcher (J, Trowbridge, sen.), Arm., dismissed; James Spence, ink grinder (Morrison and Morrison), Army, held over; Thomas William Williams, farm hand (M W. Williams), Air Force, recommended: James Goodlad White (grade 2), mechanic (Milton Cycle Works), Air Force, dismissed: Edward Carl Lucas, apprentice plumber (Mrs H, F. Mullins), Army, dismissed; William Allan Young (Mrs C. Young). Army, dismissed: Peter Ingram Perry, shearer (M. J Meehan), Army, withdrawn; Eileen Jean Thomas, hotel employee (appellant). Army, dismissed; J. D. Wallace (appellant), Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, recommended; M. V. Besley, assistant storeman (Kaiapoi Woollen Company), Air Force, withdrawn; J. B. Pringle, farmer (Mrs J. B. Pringle), Army, release recommended till December 31.

During the hearing of the appeal by Thos. Borthwick and Sons, Ltd., for its works manager, Owen Archibald Keith, at Monday’s sitting of the No. 10 Armed Forces Appeal Board, it was stated that the company was prepared, in accordance with its policy, to release Mr Keith for service with the Armed Forces. The company’s original appeal was before the board for review, and no objection was offered to Mr Keith being made available to the Armed Forces.
