QUEEN WILHELMINA’S BIRTHDAY
(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 12. The First Lord of the Admiralty (Mr A. V. Alexander) has sent this message to Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands: "On the anniversary of your Majesty’s birthday and the National Day of the Netherlands, I desire on behalf of the Board of the Admiralty and the Royal Navy to offer our sincere congratulations to your Majesty. With the active and highly efficient co-operation of the Royal Netherlands Navy and the mercantile marine, the initiative has now been wrested from the enemy and the recent successes of the United Nations have brought nearer the enemy’s final overthrow, nd the liberation of the Netherlands.’’
The Queen has replied: "I thank you most sincerely.
