DEATH OF WOMAN TAXI-DRIVER
♦ VERDICT OF CORONER
A verdict that Wilhelmina Webster came by her death on March 16, 1943, at Tinwald, the cause being strangulation accelerated by blows on the head as the result of being murdered by James Hector McAulay, was returned by the Ashburton Coroner (Mr E. C. Bathurst) yesterday, .when he concluded the inquest on Mrs Webster, a woman taxi-driver, of Ashburton, whose body was found in a sump-hole at Tinwald on March 17.
Evidence of the trial of McAulay for the murder of Wilhelmina Webster at the Supreme Court at Christchurch last week and of the sentence imposed by the Court, was given by Constable W. F. S. Kilpatrick (Ashburton).
