The total appraisement value at the Christchurch centre for the season was £1,677.645, representing 115 per cent. COMPANY NEWS Xaupirl Coal.—The accounts of Taupirl Coal Mines tor the year ended March 31 show a net profit of £12,755, compared with £9532 last year, and £9407 in 1941. The directors report that owing to the delay in securing a settlement with the Government they • have decided to submit the accounts on the basis of the amount claimed from the Government For a similar reason they had earlier declared a dividend of Is 3d a share, which is the same rate as last year. Dividends, ordinary and preference, require £9405, leaving a balance to be carried forward of £3350.—(P.5.5.) f MINING Slab Hut.—Owing to repair work there will be no wash up at Slab Hut Creek dredge until August 20.
