A visit is to be paid to Christchurch shortly by Dr. Michael Traub, official representative of the Jewish Agency for Palestine. A civic reception will be tendered to Dr. Traub in the Civic Theatre on September 4. The following Christchurch returning officers have been appointed for electorates in the South Island:—Avon, Mr A. Fyfe (Magistrate's Court); Christchurch East, -Mr J. C. L. McCree (Lands and Deeds Office); Christchurch North, Mr G. W. Brown (Official Assignee); Christchurch South. Mr T. W. Reese; Lyttelton, Mr J. Morrison (Stamp Department); Riccarton, Mr A. Freeman; Kaiapoi, Mr W. F. Hames (Magistrate’s Court); Southern Maori, Mr J. R. Sanson (Supreme Court).
