NEW GOVERNOR OF MARTINIQUE

M. HOPPENOT ARRIVES (Rec. 10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. July 14. The new administrator of Martinique under the French Committee of National Liberation (M. Henri Hoppenot) arrived at Fort de France, Martinique, aboard the French destroyer Courville. He was accompanied by members of the United States Commission. M. Hoppenot, whose appointment followed the resignation of the proVichy Governor (Admiral Robert) received the acclamations of an enthusiastic crowd.
