FOOTPATH WANTED
Sir.—May I direct the attention of the council to that part of the Carlton Mill road west of the footbridge and ask it to consider the formation of a footpath on the loft side of the road for the convenience of pedestrians emerging from the park and proceeding to (he south end of Rossall street. If it’s too much to expect asphalt paths these times, could they form it. and shift the western end of the fence a little further back for this purpose.— Yours, etc., A.S. June 10, 1943. [The City Engineer (Mr E. Somers) stated yesterday that if a footpath was formed as suggested by “A S.” the road would be too narrow for motor traffic.]
