CHRISTCHURCH PRESBYTERY
The work of the Church for young people at the present time was the subject chosen by Sister A. Kirkwood when she spoke to members of the Christchurch Presbytery at a meeting this week. She suggested that the Church needed to rediscover its mission to youth. This, she said, would result in a change in the type of leadership, and would call for a change in the Church’s programme of work and a change in her buildings and equipment. Sister Kirkwood emphasised the need to safeguard young people against bureaucratic tendencies. There was an inclination in the Church for older people to plan for the younger generation; older people should co-operate, but let young people plan for themselves.
