Dickens Fellowship.—Mr R. W. K. Eastwood presided at a recent meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Dickens Fellowship. "Everyone’s Evening,” conducted by Miss E. R. Burn, gave all members the opportunity of discussing the literary value of passages from “Dombey and Son.” Study groups were led by Mesdames W. Dailey, E. R. Grainger. D Ailken, E. J. Bonisch. Miss F Morland, and Mr J. Railton. The groups discussed such questions as the genius of the author as shown by his portrayal of the characters and their conversations, the characters themselves. and the customs aftd institutions of the day.
