A CHEVIOT BRIDGE

Sir,—A few nights ago a short history of Cheviot Hills was given over the air by Mr Thompson, in which he said that the cost of the first bridge

across the Hurunui river was paid by the Hon. W. Robinson. This statement is news to me. I was in the district at the time, and would like to know if the statement is correct, and would be pleased if someone could let me know.—Yours, etc., INQUIRER. Motunau, May 15, 1943.
