OAMARU J.C. TO-DAY’S PROGRAMME The Oamaru Jockey Club should have a most successful winter meeting to-day. The fields are all well filled without any being unwieldy, and class is strongly represented ''in all grades of gallopers. An added attraction will be the Oamaru Juvenile Trotting Stakes, which is being conducted by the club by courtesy of tne Oamaru Trotting Club. The Oamaru Winter Cup promises to provide an interesting race, and most of the candidates will carry confident support. Ballyaggan is a six-year-old gelding by Irish Lancer, trained at Oamaru. Edward is by Nightmarch from Battle Queen, and is owned by Mrs A. C. Wright, who raced Rascal some years back. Maritimus is by Valkyrian from Great Lake, and is trained at Orari. True Range is by Salmagundi from Direct Hit, and is owned by Messrs Hazlett. Manakore, engaged in the Trial Handicap, is a four-year-old gelding by Te Monanui, owned by Mrs V. G. Holloway and trained by G. Fielding, Wingatufi Royal Don is by Royden from Dianthus, and is trained at Orari. Salmi is a four-year-old filly by Salmagundi from Spear Bridge, and is trained by D. P. Wilson for Mr A. Chisholm. A Speedy Sprinter Royal Review, engaged in the Trial Handicap at Oamaru. is a threc-ycar-old gelding by Paladin from Grand Review. He has had only four races to date and in his last, the Yaldhurst Handicap, seven furlongs, at Riccarton on May i, he disputed the lead with Greek Idol until well into the straight. On that form he must be considered a place proposition to-day. By Successful Sire Dash o’ Dink is likely to have a strong following at Oamaru to-day. Auto Prince, who has won at his last three starts (twice at Hawera, and at the South Auckland meeting on Saturday), is a four-year-old bay horse from Loma's Pet, by Blue Mountain King from Cooltime. Auto Machine, who was trained by A. Brown, won races in Australia and New Zealand, and was iittle below the best class in this country. He was by Machine Brick from Tbora, and his sire'was a high-class winner in Australia and New Zealand.
