Following a series of meetings in the Northern Wairoa and Otamatea areas the Ngati-whatua sub-tribe has decided upon the nomination of Mr Tapihana iDobson) Paikea. only son of the late Hon. P. K. Paikea. for the Northern Maori seat. The selection of a member of the Paikea family to fill the position until the General Election had been left to the family and to the Maori residents in the southern portion of the Northern Maori electorate. The candidate, who is a cadet in the Native Department, Auckland, was born near Batley,
