OFFICIAL FORECASTS

The weather forecast for Canterbury h.-ued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington. a ,- d dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: North-easterly winds on the coast, fresh north-westerly inland; but a change to south-westerly advancing from the south during the day. Weather cloudy, with scattered rain. Temperatures becoming colder. WEST COAST Following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Strong northerly winds, changing to fresh south-westerly. Weather cloudy to overcast, with intermittent rain, but slowly improving from the south. Temperatures colder.
