TEACHERS DECORATED
REWARDS FOR SERVICE IN THE FIELD Tribute was paid by members of the New Zealand Educational Institute in Christchurch yesterday to members cn active service who had received distinctions. Acting-Flying Officer D. S. Gibb, it was reported, had received the D.F.C Sergeant M. C. Tilhcr, who was formerly employed at Wartpa School. Otago, had been decorated with the Military Medal, For conspicuous gallantry in Crete. Major N. C. Watson had received the Military Cross. Colonel D. F. Leckie. former headmaster at Surrey Park School, Invercargill, had been awarded the 0.8.E, for outstanding service in the Middle East. Sergeant W. K. Marshall, of Timaru. who had received the D.C.M. for gallantry in action in the Middle East, was a teacher at Koeri School. Stratford. before enlistment. A recipient of the Military Cross was Lieutenant J. F. Mooclie, formerly a student at Dunedin Training College.
