May 12, The weather forecast for Canterbury istued at 5 p.m. by th- Meteorological Office, Wellington, a- d dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Fresh to strong north-westerly winds. Showers in the Alps, but weather fair and mild on the plains. WEST COAST Following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Northerly winds, fresh or strong at times. Weather cloudy and changeable, with occasional rain. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and sunny yesterday, with a very light north-east breeze.
