SATURDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) CHARGED WITH PERJURY

Noel Wilfred Lloyd, aged 19, an airman, of 23 Tancred street, was charged with committing perjury in that on January 14. at Christchurch, .during the hearing of a charge of theft against Clifford Fox, he falsely swore that he was in the company of Fox and others in Victoria street, Christchurch, at 5.50 p.m, on December 19, whereas he was not in their company at the time. Detective-Sergeant J. J. Halcrow, representing the police, asked for a remand till May 13. The accused, who was represented Dy Mr C. S. Thomas, was granted bail in his own recognisance of £2OO, a condition being that he report to the police as directed.
