CHRISTCHURCH CLUB Matches in the first round of the Campbell Cup, played by the Christchurch Golf Club on Saturday, resulted as follows:—J. W. McLean and O. A. Y. Johnston beat R. M. Adams and G. T. Webster, 1 up; F. S. Grant and R. S. Beadel beat D. H. Butcher and J. A. Oliver, 2 and 1; J. Ramsden and M. J. Russell and J. S. Connell and D. E. Millar, square, HAGLEY CLUB Best scores in the second round of the Meares Cup, played by members of the Hagley Golf Club on Saturday, were is follows:—G. W. Sparks, 75, 11—64; F. Piper. 82, 18—64; C. L. Crowley, 74, 9 65; B. Roll. 78, 12—66: P. C. Browne, 62, 15—67; R. O. Johnston, 81, 14—67. Highest scores were returned by the following in the second round of the Hagley Cup competition:—A. C. RUSSLEY CLUB A four-ball bogey match played by members of the Russley Golf Club resulted:—D. J. Lack (8) and O. G. Walker (18), 6 up; H. L. Blamires (10) and A. H. Vivian (14), 4 up; N. P. Ball (5) and R. Lane (9), 3 up. In a bisque bogey match the best cards handed in were by D. A. McCormick (12). P. J. McKay (14), and L. L. Cordery (17), all square. WAITIKIRI-BURWOOD CLUB The second round of the Blank Cup competition was played yesterday by members of the Waitikiri-Burwood Golf Club. D. F. Glanville beat J. Buchanan 5 and 4. H. Throp beat A. R. Blank 1 up, W. Latham beat A. E. Best 2 up. and Mrs Latham won by default from Miss J. Byers. In a Stableford bogey match played in conjunction with the Blank Cup competition, D. F. Glanville won with a score of 26. Other good cards were N. Ashby 25 and O. Schmidt 25. RAWHITI CLUB

A Canadian foursome was played by members of the Rawhiti Golf Club over the week-end. The following were the best cards returned;—A. B. L. Smith and A. Thompson, 77, 9—68; S. Watson and T. Millard, 82, 12—70; J. Davis and E. C. Colville. 77, 6—71. RUSSLEY LADIES’ CLUB

The Russiey Ladies’ Golf Club held a patriotic day yesterday. Following were the results:—

Stroke Handicap.—A grade; Mrs A. O. Wellwood, 93, 16—77; Miss G. M. 'Cotton, 96, 16—80. B grade: Miss M, E. Edward, 109 36—73; Miss P. Wellwood, 97, 19—78, Four-ball Bogey.—A grade: Mrs E. G. Kerr and Miss M. Jefterd, 3 down; Mrs W. Toomey and Miss P. Norton, Mrs Gunn and Mrs Dry, Mrs Thomas and Mrs F. Wade, each 3 down. Mrs Kerr and Mrs .Tefford won on the count back.
