Fire Extinguished by Rain,—The Central Fire Brigade received a call to a scrub fire at Halsey street, South New Brighton, at 6.55 p.m. yesterday. Approximately three acres of dry grass ■and scrub were well ablaze when the brigade arrived, but heavy rain began soon afterwards, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
