INVASION OF EUROPE
PREDICTION BY U.S. OFFICIAL (Rec. 7..10 p.m.) WASHINGTON. May 6, Mr Elmer Davis, Director of the United States Office of War Information, told a press conference in Washington that It was entirely possible that the Allies might invade Europe before the completion of the Tunisian campaign, probably when the enemy was "pocketed off” at Bizerte, “which should be accomplished pretty soon.” "There is no question that there will be Allied operations in Continental Europe this summer,” he said. Mr Davis said it was possible to go ahead with Invasion plans, even though Bizerte remained for the time in Axis hands.
