PENSIONS ACT AMENDMENT

SUGGESTIONS BY 2ND N.Z.E.F. ASSOCIATION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 7. A statement issued by the Dominion headquarters of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association to-night says:— “After a two days’ conference of the Dominion executive and members of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association held in Wellington, representative and delegates to-night waited on the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraserl and the Hon. W. Nash. Various urgentlyneeded amendments to the Pensions Act and suggestions for carrying into effect the ideals expressed in the Rehabilitation Act were presented. A full discussion followed when the association’s proposals and policy were propounded.” The Dominion president (Mr E. L. Thwaites) stated that he felt sure that following the conference many of the anomalies experienced by returned servicemen would be speedily remedied and that the rehabilitation of servicemen would be more closely approximate to the wishes of the Cabinet.
