N.Z.E.F. IN PACIFIC
* APPOINTMENTS GAZETTED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 6. The following appointments and promotions of officers of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Pacific were gazetted to-night:— New Zealand Medical Corps: Lieu-tenant-Colonel N. C. Speight to be a colonel on his appointment as Assist-ant-Director of Medical Services of a division.
New Zealand Infantry: Majors J. M. Reidy and H. Keenan to be temporary lieutenant-colonels while commanding battalions.
The temporary promotions of the following officers is made substantive: Staff, Brigadier C. S. J. Duff, Colonel J. M. Twhigg; New Zealand Artillery, Lieutenant-Colonels H. W. D. Blake and B. Wicksteed.
Colonel Twhigg relinquishes the appointment of Assistant-Director of Medical Services of a division and is appointed Deputy-Director of Medical Services. 2nd New Zealand Expedition, ary Force in the Pacific. Tonga Section; Prince Tuboutoa is granted the honorary rank ol major.
