OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON, May 8. The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue. Is as follows: Northerly to north-westerly winds, fresh or strong at times; occasional rain in the ranges, mainly fair and mild on the plains; later a cold south-westerly change, with showers and snow on the ranges. WEST COAST Following Is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate to fresh northerly winds, later turning to south-westerly; weather cloudy to overcast, with occasional rain; temperatures becoming cooler. , CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, after a frost of 6.3 degrees.
