WAR PENSIONS GRANTED TO WOMEN

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, May 6. The first Auckland appeals by members of women’s services in the present war for pensions have been granted 'Jy the War Pensions Appeal Board. One was that of a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, from Hamilton, who suffered from the effects of inoculations. A pension of £1 a week was awarded for seven months.

The other case concerned a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps, who appealed on the ground of neurasthenia, which the board held was not caused by her service, but was aggravated by it. She was awarded 10s a week for six months, ending in June.
