Fresh north-easterlics at times near the mast, otherwise moderate to fresh north-westerly winds. Scattered showers later In Ihe Alps, otherwise fair to fine and milder.

CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER A frost of half a degree was registered at the Christchurch 'Magnetic Observatory ye-Tcrclay. The day was fine, with a cold wind from the north-east. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear, and there was a breeze from the north-east. The barometer, at 20.83 Inches (1010.2 millibars), was falling slowly.
