TWO MEMBERS DISAGREE WITH ATTITUDE OF BOARDS

Reference to the prosecution of the Lyttelton Harbour Board recently for not paying overtime to a boatman employed on New Year’s Day was made at a meeting of the board yesterday by Captain T. H. McCombs, M.P. Captain McCombs said that he and Mr R. E. Cairns wished to dissociate themselves from the attitude of the Harbour Boards’ Union of Employers in the matter of payment for work done on Sundays and holidays by harbour board employees.
