The weather forecast tor Canterbury, Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue. Is as follows: Fresh to strong northerly to northwesterly winds; occasional rain In the Alps, fair and mild elsewhere. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is as follows: Strong northerly winds, later changing to fresh to strong south-westerly. Weather cloudy to overcast with occasional rain. Temperatures becoming cooler later. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day ■in Christchurch yesterday was fine and warm, with a light northwest wind after a frost of 1.2 degrees.
