Farewell To Minister at Belfast.— The Rev. F. H. Bailey, who has been minister in charge of the Belfast-Styx Presbyterian Church, circuit for the last two years, and who is retiring from the Ministry, was, with Mrs Bailey and Miss I. Bailey, entertained at a farewell social given, by members of the Belfast Church. On behalf of members, Mr S. G. Farquhar presented Mr and Mrs Bailey with an eiderdown quilt, and wished them a long and happy retirement and improved health.
The Public Works Department continues to make steady progress with the completion of the Inangahua-West-port' section of the railway line, which will be handed over to the Railway Department later in the year. The track has had to be raised to instal a culvert at Muddy creek, near Rahui siding, and the track will be restored to the normal level during the coming week-end. So that there will be no interruption to this -work, the rail-car service on Sunday will be suspended.
