UNITED NATIONS’ FAIR
RECEIPTS TOTAL ABOUT 55 30,000 Receipts from all quarters in the United Nations’ Fair had last night reached a total of about £30,000. Yesterday's takings, including a number of sums paid in on behalf of the different queens, were £3250. The fair will end to-day, with a grand finale ;t King Edward Barracks, Arrangements have been made to receive money for the various queens up to 10 p.m., anJ al’ sums received after that time will be paid into the genera! fund. The results of the queen contest will be displayed at the barracks every half-hour from 8 p.m. to 9.30, and at 10.30 it is hoped to announce the winning candidate. All moneys which are paid into the Christchurch City Council Chambers must be handed in by 4.30 p.m.
