Forward Buying Scheme.—The electricity committee of the Christchurch City Council has agreed to a suggestion that it should support a forward buying scheme for its customers. The proposal, put forward by the Christchurch National War Savings Committee, is to provide by savings for the purchase of goods not now procurable, tentative promise that an open season would be granted for game had been made by the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), said the chairman (Mr J. McDonald). The society’s suggestion that an open season be observed in South Canterbury from May 1 to May 16, on the same conditions as last year, had been forwarded, but so far there had been no reply, said Mr McDonald. The secretary (Mr F. J. Robertson) was authorised to telegraph the Minister.
