DICKENS FELLOWSHIP
A talk on “Reading,” by Mr C. T. Aschman, was a feature of the monthly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Dickens Fellowship. Mr Aschman read two descriptive passages. ‘‘Mr Carker, Junior,” and “Captain Cuttle.” Study groups led by Misses B. Craig, P. Brunt, and H. Aldred discussed points of interest from “Dombey and Son,” the book chosen for the year’s study by the Dickens Fellowship, London. A sketch in character —“Major Bagstock and Mr Dombey meet Mrs Skewton and Edith Granger,” was given by Mesdames J. Allott and A. J. D. Dearsley, Misses G. Musgrove. R. L. Dearsley, B. M. Park, and I. I. M. Archer. Mrs L. J. Morris presided.
