The High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand (Sir Harry Batterbee) has advised the Mayor (Mr E H. Andrews) that he expects to arrive in Christchurch on March 18 and leave for Dunedin on March 21. Mr T P Cleary has been elected president of the Wellington District Law Society. The Dominion executive committee of the New Zealand Returned Services' Association has received advice from the Minister in charge of Rehabilitation (the Hon. R. Semple) that, in pursuance of the terms of Section 3 of the Rehabilitation Act, 1941. the GovernorGeneral has appointed Mr R. W. Fenton to be a member of the Rehabilitation Council. Mr Fenton is a former serviceman of the present war. He left New Zealand with the Ist Echelon. Before that he had extensive service with the Territorial Force. Mr Fenton is also a member of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Returned Services' Association.—(P. A.)
