gade waited on the Borough Council last evening seeking permission to canvass for funds to purchase a truck for the Bedcliffs section.
The - speakers. Fire Inspector T, L. Dacre and Foreman J. O’Neil, said that the trailing of the fire reel exhausted the men and left them unfit for fire-fighting. The work on the hills was almost impossible. After the deputation retired, the request was unanimously supported, and it was decided to permit the canvass and to subsidise the collection £ for £ up to £IOO.
