Otira Ttumel Freight. Freight handled by the Railways Department from the West Coast to Canterbury last week showed a substantial increase over the quantities for the corresponding periods of the previous two years. During the week ended on Saturday, 17,506 tons went through the Otira tunnel,, compared with 13,277 tons in the same week of 1942, and 14,137 tons in the same period’of 1941.
