AIR TRAINING CORPS AT TIMARU
An appeal for more recruits for the Air Training Corps has been launched at Timaru. According to Flying Officer G. A Thompson, officer commanding the Timaru Town Unit (comprising the 15th Squadron of the Air Training Corps), activities for 1943 should be both interesting and amusing. There are two qualified lecturers in the educational subjects, which include science. mathematics', first aid. signalling, and the recognition and service of aircraft Cadets must also participate in some snort during the week-end. and Pilot Officer A. Calder is in charge of this side of Air Training Corps activities Arrangements have been made for regular social functions, to al'ow cadets adequate relaxation. The present strength of the Timaru Squadron is 70, and it is hoped to make this number up to 100.
